As the founder and sole surgeon in a boutique, concierge-style practice, she personally oversees every stage of care—from initial consultation through surgery and follow-up—delivering attentive and compassionate care.

Education & Surgical Training

Dr. Meryam Shikara graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to earn her medical degree (MD) from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she discovered her passion for Facial Plastic Surgery. She received the William Gray Award for Outstanding Student in Otolaryngology and the Outstanding Achievement in Research Award upon graduation.

Dr. Shikara completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. There, she trained extensively in complex facial trauma, head and neck cancer reconstruction, Mohs defect repair, and intricate rhinoplasty techniques. She has published 11 peer-reviewed papers and presented her work at multiple national and international academic meetings.

After residency, Dr. Shikara elected to complete a highly competitive fellowship of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). This allowed her to train under the leading global experts in Deep plane facelift and Rhinoplasty in Manhattan. Her fellowship has given her comprehensive, hands-on experience in rhinoplasty, facelift surgery, eyelid surgery, and non-surgical rejuvenation—guided by mentors who are pioneers in their fields.
